BLUE MOUNTAINS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
TARELLA OPEN DAY - SUNDAY 30 JULY 2017

Celebrate 150 years of rail to Weatherboard (Wentworth Falls) on Sunday 30 July 2017 at the Blue Mountains Historical Society’s Tarella Cottage Museum Open Day at 99 Blaxland Road Wentworth Falls between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm. Our Railway Exhibition is located in the Back-Room Exhibition Space.
Tarella Cottage, a typical Mountains 19th Century holiday cottage, has been standing in Wentworth Falls for over 125 years. It was built following the arrival of rail to the Mountains as Steam trains made the trip to and from Sydney so much easier and much more practical than the bullock wagon.
The Society’s exhibition looks at the history of rail to Wentworth Falls to 1867. We have old photos, books and maps on display.
Tarella Open Day Entry charges are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. Admission to the exhibition is then free. Morning and afternoon teas are available for a small donation.
