 THE BLUE MOUNTAINS BOTANIC GARDEN MOUNT TOMAH

The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden is located under 2-hours’ drive from Sydney on the Bells Line of Road and is home to 21,000 plants and 900 species.  It is the only Botanic Garden located in a World Heritage Area and is focused on the conservation of cool climate plants.

Our educational, cultural and artistic events along with exhibitions and workshops are set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Garden.

STANDING UP ALIVE – AN ABORIGINAL ART EXHIBITION

Standing Up Alive is an Aboriginal expression describing how the people are not only still going, but are dynamic; alive! Join Aboriginal artists Wayne Brennan, Shane Smithers, Chris Tobin, Leanne Tobin and Uncle Peter Williams who use the power and connection of their local symbols and patterns in a contemporary way to create a vibrant exhibition. Free entry.

AUTUMN KIDS QUEST – Aboriginal Adventure (part of Standing Up Alive)

Go on a walkabout through the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden – can you find the 5 adventure stops? Find out how Aboriginal people use plants for food, shelter, medicine and more! Look and listen to spot the birds and animals living in the Garden, enjoy fun hands-on activities, find the clues to solve the puzzle …. and win a prize!

Part of ‘Standing up Alive’ featuring the works of five NSW Aboriginal artists who use the power and connection of their local symbols and patterns in a contemporary way to create a vibrant exhibition.
